Substantial Internet Failure Affects Dozens Websites and Mobile Apps
A large-scale web disruption has affected dozens online platforms and apps worldwide, as users reporting issues connecting to the web due to difficulties at Amazonâs web hosting system.
The disrupted apps include Snapchat, Roblox, the messaging service Signal, and the language learning app Duolingo, in addition to a host of Amazon-managed services like its main retail website and the Ring home security firm.
In the UK, the financial institution Lloyds was disrupted in addition to its affiliates the bank Halifax and the Scottish bank, with further notifications of problems reaching the HMRC site on the start of the week. Furthermore across the UK, several Ring customers turned to networks to state their doorbells were malfunctioning.
